📢 Communication Hub

Welcome to the Platte County Bands Communication Hub! Staying informed is crucial for a successful band season. We use multiple channels to ensure timely updates reach students, parents, and volunteers. Please familiarize yourself with the methods below to ensure you receive all necessary information.

Primary Communication Platforms

SportsYou App

First off, what's up with an app named SportsYou to communicate with the Band/Choir? The Platte County School District, in an effort to streamline group communication, decided on the SportsYou App as the standard. Therefore, it's our main platform for daily and time-sensitive communication, especially during the summer and marching season. It is used for receiving communication for the appropriate Band over the summer. So, please download the app and stay connected to all the fun.

  • Action Required: All students and parents should download the SportsYou app for Android or iPhone and join the relevant group(s).
  • Codes Needed: There are SportsYou group codes needed i.e. (DG5R-56TF) to access the groups, which were sent to all parents' email. Search for the email with the subject line "Summer Band Information - Please Read!!!". Contact an MPA Board member if you need help.
  • To Join: Obtain the codes for groups you are interested in and use them within the app:
    • Pride Band (For all students in Pride Band)
    • Traditions Band (For ALL Band students)
    • Band Leadership Team (For section leaders, drum majors, etc)
    • Band Parents (For all Band Parents!)
    • Jazz Band (For students in the PCHS Jazz Band)

Email

Official letters, important documents, juicy details, sometimes long emails, and general announcements are often sent via email. These emails will come from a Choir / Band Director or Asst Director. Please ensure your most current parent and student email addresses are provided on all forms, such as the Uniform Order Form.

Facebook

Connect with the wider band community and the Music Parents Association (MPA):

Private PC MPA Members Group: The Platte County Music Parents Association maintains a private Facebook group for MPA members who seek exclusive access to photos, videos, and livestreams. You should join this group. Ensure your Facebook name(s) are included on your MPA membership form to facilitate access.
